An investment in EV charging quality is an investment in your future

Poor EV charging execution is a poor excuse

A wise man once said: “Buying cheap is expensive”. That guru must have been driving electric vehicles, as rarely is such wisdom more relevant than in the world of EV infrastructure.

Anyone with experience knows how making sacrifices with EV charging quality is a sure way to damage the operability of their business – be it either in public, semi-public, or commercial sectors. It’s also a fast path to increased costs.

In this blog, I’ll discuss a few crucial points about the pitfalls of poor EV charging implementation without forgetting, of course, all the benefits when it’s done right.

The Bigger Picture

The sad reality remains that far too many EV drivers face faulty or out-of-order charging stations on their driving routes. Built from poor-quality components and without proper pre-emptive maintenance, these failures and frustrations lead to an unhappy experience of any driver. Not good.

Eventually, bad experiences will follow bad word of mouth, which again will slow down the evolution of electric vehicle culture as a whole. As James O’Neill from Chago UK commented on a recent Fleet World article:

"The experience for current EV users is often frustrating and will need to change if fleets are going to fully embrace electric vehicles onto their choice lists."

Unfortunately, there are also other repercussions to be considered...

Let’s talk about the dreaded issue of:

The Damage of Downtime

It’s a no-brainer by now that electric vehicle charging offers a number of ways to improve your business. However, compromising on quality will cause a wide number of problems. The most prevalent of these is downtime – and it comes down to three key issues:

  1. No profit. Your business stalls because of poor components.
  2. Repair & maintenance. It all leads to bigger OPEX.
  3. Mistrust. This stretches far beyond mere downtime, and should be avoided at all costs. Nothing damages business more than experiences where customers lose their trust in what they set out looking for.

Do the Right Thing!

At Chago, we acknowledge the fact that high-quality EV charging products and services are the only way to reach high-quality experiences. It is our core philosophy in everything we do.
